SDBC Sunday Ride,11/15 |
Route to be determined |
Leaves UC Cyclery at 8:30, route to be determined by participants. There may or may not be an SDBC ride leader. If I am able to show, I’ll be there to lead.
You may want to do a standard SDBC Saturday route, or possibly a ride up the coast.
Bring 2 bottles of fluid, and be ready to roll at 8:30.
Please keep camaraderie and rider safety in the forefront. If I'm not there, please have someone take a group pic and email me with any new email addresses.

SDBC Member Involved in Serious Accident |
On the morning of October 18, SDBC member Julian Wright was riding his bike and struck by a car in the intersection of Miramar Rd and Kearny Villa Rd, which resulted in life-threatening injuries. He is no longer in ICU, but his condition is still serious. A few of us visited him separately and, though saddened to see that he is still semi-responsive, we could tell that he was glad we were there. It will do him a world of good if you are able to pay him a visit. Please feel free to visit Julian at Kaiser Zion Hospital, Rm 3303A, and please keep him in your thoughts & prayers. |

A Note From The Bike Coalition Liaison |
Remember, your SDBC membership includes membership in the San Diego County Bike Coalition which includes a number of benefits. See the new coalition website at http://sdbikecoalition.org.
Safety tip of the week: When merging left… don’t wedge the cars! Turn from the rear!
- Leader signals left (but does not yet move left).
- You signal left when you see someone in front of you signal left.
- Last person makes sure it’s clear, yells “clear!”, and moves left.
- When you hear “clear!” behind you, double-check (look back), yell “clear!” to those ahead, and then you move left.
- Communicate! Person on the right follows lead of person on his or her left. Stay together. Look PRO!
