15th Annual Cecelia "Cecy" Krone Memorial Ride |
Labor Day,
Monday, September 1, 2014 at 8:30am
|
Please join SDBC for a 55 mile bike ride (Les's Loop) to Carlsbad in memory of fellow SDBC members whose lives have been taken on the roads by drunk drivers.
The ride will leave UC Cyclery (home of the Saturday ride location) at 8:30am.
This is not a race, but a fun ride (holiday pace) and a time for all of us to enjoy riding together to remember club members killed while riding. We will be stopping at Java Depot on the return trip for a FREE cup of Java.
Red memorial MADD ribbons will be given to all participants to tie onto their bicycles during the ride.
When: Monday, September 1, 2014 at 8:30am

A Note from the Training Director |
The D-5 Ride - Only One Saturday Left!!
|
Our weekly D-5 beginner’s ride wraps up this Saturday, August 30th - Labor Day weekend. If you know someone who is interested in cycling but doesn’t have a clue about what to do or where to begin, the D-5 ride is the answer. An easy 8-12 mile ride that does NOT go up Torrey Pines. Our team of coaches tailors each ride to the participating riders, working on specific skills for each. The rides are free and open to everyone. But they end in is near, so introduce your friends and loved ones to Cycling 101 now.

|
The Pactimo store is open. To access the Team Store from the club web site, click on Members, then SDBC Clothing, and follow the directions on the page. If this is the first time you have ordered clothing from Pactimo, you will need to create your personal account.
Please be sure of your sizing. Pactimo and SDBC are NOT responsible if you order the wrong size. Use the following link to access the Pactimo Custom Clothing sizing chart.
A Note On Pricing
The clothing committee worked very hard in negotiating prices with Pactimo. Despite almost across-the-board price increases on garments, we're keeping the prices of many popular items the same as last year. In cases where we have raised prices, we have kept the increase as small as possible.

For Sale: Ay-up Complete Lighting System
I am selling my Ay-Up complete lighting system because I got a new kit for a gift. I used these lights for night MTB rides. They provide plenty of light to have a wonderful night ride. The light is bright and clear. You can read about Ay-Up lights here: http://www.ayup-lights.com/
These lights are also very good for road riding commuters. The kit has tons of stuff. 3 batteries for all occasions, chargers (including car), mounts and etc. The kits retail for $380+shipping brand new. The batteries last a long time. I've never had my lights run out of juice on a night ride. $150 is the price so don't send me messages with other offers. The lights are guaranteed for life and practically indestructible.
