Inaugural 4th of July ride:
SDBC Red, White & BREW

Friday, July 4, 2014 - Independence Day
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Join us for an inaugural 4th of July ride and picnic; SDBC Red, White & BREW!

The ride will start at 8:00 am at 
Karl Strauss Brewery Tasting Room 5985 Santa Fe St San Diego, CA 92109 (Just south of the Rose Canyon Bike path.)

The ride route will be 65 miles in distance at a moderate pace. There's also a shorter, alternate route that's about 28 miles.

We expect to be back to the Karl Strauss Tasting Room around 12 noon to enjoy some great brew and celebrate our country's independence with a complimentary picnic with brats and dogs!

Wear your SDBC kit or bring your SDBC membership card - All SDBC members will receive 10% off at the Tasting Room which is good for flights, pints and to-go beer (growlers).

We are asking for participants to RSVP at the SDBC Facebook events page.  (To plan the picnic.) Also, a few volunteers are needed - please help out by signing up at the link. Please contact our event coordinator specialevents@sdbc.org if you have any questions.

Inaugural Tri-National Benefit Bike Tour for the Children a Grand Success!

This ride had everything necessary to ensure a good time: It was well organized with a good turnout (and a good turnout of SDBC riders), pleasant weather, a fun route with clean roads including challenging Honey Springs Rd, great sag stops, a nice return descent, tee-shirt, finisher's medal, goodie bag, and a nicely prepared simple meal at rides end. Also, celebrity rider Raul Alcalá (2-Time TDF stage winner), a Mariachi band, a chance to have your pic taken with Miss Baja California, a raffle, beer, a free toy for every rider supplied by Imperial Toy Co. that could be given to a child, and our very own Ralph Elliott as the ride announcer. It doesn't get any better than that!

So, thanks for being there. It was fun for all and helped raise needed funds for The Hospital Infantil de las Californias, For the Children.
