2014 BARRIO LOGAN
GRAND PRIX, MAY 3 |
It’s that time of year again and planning and preparations for the 2014, 18th Annual Barrio Logan Grand Prix are in full swing! Currently we are working hard to ensure this year’s event will stand up to, if not surpass, its outstanding reputation as one of Southern California’s premier bicycle races! Again this year we will be the SCNCA Junior Criterium Championships and part of USA Cycling’s Road Development Race Series. Plus we will feature races for Elite Men and Women, Master’s and our always popular Kid’s Races!
Right now we are working feverishly on raising the $9000 cash prize list committed to this years race. But we need your help! If you have any leads on someone or a business who you believe might like to sponsor the race (how about you???) please give me a call. Everyone loves a race with lots of “primes”, SDBC has over 300 members, if each member acquired just one prime, this years Barrio Logan Grand Prix could give out 300 prime prizes!!! Primes can be just about anything: gift certificates, dinners, clothing, services, bike parts, auto parts, gift cards, cash… let’s get creative!
Speaking of needing your help; it’s time to start signing up for one of the many race day volunteer positions. Positions available are in the areas of; registration, course set-up and tear-down, course marshalling, hospitality, expo area, equipment truck driver, etc. - more information about signing up coming soon.

2014 Fiesta Island Time Trial Series |

The next time trial of the season is Sunday, March 30th. This event will include team time trials.

Hi-Tech Bikes will be the series title sponsor this year, which will provide onsite mechanical support.
New to 2014, we are using Webscorer for online registration, timing and results to streamline the process. Racers and fans can track results in real time on an iPhone.
Also new this year, top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Prizes and awards will be given to top three series winners at the last race of the season in November.
You may sign up each race individually, or sign up for the entire series to receive 15% discount. Current SDBC members will receive $5 discount. Please contact fitt_info@sdbc.org for coupon code.

The clothing committee worked very hard in negotiating prices with Pactimo. Despite almost across-the-board price increases on garments, we're keeping the prices of many popular items the same as last year. In cases where we have raised prices, we have kept the increase as small as possible.

This bike has been proudly ridden on a number of SDBC D4 and D5 rides this year, seen on TV for the 2013 YMCA Ride Across California, finished in fourth in this year's BLGP, finished 2012 Brentwood GP, 2012 Ladera Ranch GP, among other kids races. Sad to part with it, but it needs a good home for the next budding SDBC racer.
