More Info: We are researching the effects of glutamine and cortisol on cyclists during a glycogen depleting protocol. Subjects will come into our lab at SDSU 3 times. The first time we complete a V02 max assessment and body composition analysis, which should take approx. 30 minutes. The 2nd and 3rd visits subjects perform glycogen depleting protocol (about 2 hours of cycling) followed by administration of either a glutamine beverage or a placebo. Payment for each subject will either be $50 each or we will hold a drawing for two $500 gift cards to a bicycle shop of choice.
We will be collecting data starting around the 1st of November and going until we reach our goal of 20 participants.
