Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it’s easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the “Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

- Giant Contact SL Stem and Handlebar
Size: M/L (see size guide in pictures)
My Input: This bike was a confidence builder as I worked up to A rides. The power transfer is fantastic, and the way it slips through the air is very noticeable. It's in fantastic shape, probably 1300-1500 miles on it and I challenge you to come find a flaw on this baby.
Giant Catalog Copy: Proven through 3rd party wind tunnel tests to be more aerodynamic from every yaw angle tested when compared to other leading aero road bikes, Propel Advanced SL sets a new standard for speed. The Advanced SL-grade composite frame is engineered with AeroSystem Shaping Technology, which saves 12-36 seconds over a distance of 40km at a speed of 40 kph compared to key aero bike competitors - with zero compromises in weight or stiffness and technologies including the SpeedControl SL brake system, integrated seatmast and internal cable routing. The result is clear: Propel Advanced SL is faster from every angle.
No wheels are included with this sale.
$1750.00 takes the whole enchilada.

31st Annual SDBC Light Up A Life Holiday Toy Ride |
A big thank you to all the riders and volunteers that participated!
It was another great year for the toy ride. We had around 250 riders that brought toys for the Salvation Army to distribute to families.
The weather was great despite the rain earlier in the week. We had Ralph Elliott as emcee, Bill Riggs leading as santa, Charlie Sykes co-ordinating the ride marshalls, and Rod Stubbs handling all the behind the scenes preparations. It takes a lot of effort to make the toy ride a success and we can again thank all the ride marshallls and other volunteers that pitched in.
Hope to see everyone again next year!

A Note From The Bike Coalition Liaison |
Last Saturday morning there was a terrible crash in Leucadia involving cycling advocate Roberta Walker. She's in the hospital with brain and spine injuries. Article here:
www.thecoastnews.com/blakespear-advance-leucadia-streetscape-in-wake-of-walker-accident
There will be a a Ride for Roberta on Saturday starting at 10am at the Leucadia post office. Facebook event here:
Ride for Roberta!
The A and B rides should get there just about in time for that event if anyone is interested. If there is sufficient interest we can have a separate D3 pace ride up the coast to Leucadia planning to arrive at the post office about 10 am. Let me know.

A Note From the Sponsorship Director |
|
New Name for Our 2019 Racing Teams
We’re changing the name of our race teams. Currently the teams race under the name, “SDBC/Emerald Textiles p/b UC Cyclery” (p/b means “presented by”).
Spinergy is our new Title Sponsor, which means our 2019 racing teams need a new name. And it’s..."SDBC Powered by Spinergy p/b UC Cyclery”. “Powered by Spinergy" was the big favorite at the recent Club Night, and is the preferred wording by Spinergy. The new name has the approval of USAC, and the unanimous endorsement of the Club’s Executive Committee. The USAC website has been updated.
This is the name all USAC licensed racers should be using on their 2019 licenses and on race registrations.
Racers: Welcome to “SDBC Powered by Spinergy p/b UC Cyclery”!
