| A Note from the Training Director |
Orientation Start Time Changes August 5th
The new orientation start time for first-time Saturday cyclists is 8:15 beginning August 5th.
The orientation will wrap up at 8:25. Ride leaders will then work one-on-one with cyclists from 8:25 - 8:30 to answer questions and get them placed with the correct ride.
If you invite friends and family members to our Saturday rides, the ride leaders strongly encourage you to push them into orientation. Getting them with the right group ride is for their safety, and yours.

| Jackie Price Dunn Memorial Race |
September 3, 2017
SDBC and the San Diego Velodrome collaborate for the 2017 Jackie Price Dunn Memorial Race.
This is an Omnium Track race. Please support our event by saving the date September 3, 2017.
If you can donate a prize for a raffle, a little or your time to volunteer, or if you can come out and race, you will be helping our junior track racers in honor of the memory of Jackie Price Dunn.

| A Note From The Bike Coalition Liaison |
Tip of the week - no gaps, or it's a separate group!
This might sound like a semantic nit pick but making the following distinction mentally can save your life. Use "group" when speaking and thinking only in reference to cohesive groups without gaps. The moment there is a gap of more than a bike length or two, boom, it's a separate group. Think and ride accordingly... If you're thinking you're still part of the group despite the gap that has suddenly appeared in front of you, you're more apt to assume a car waiting for the "group" to go by will also wait for you, and then they go when the gap appears, right in front of you...
JOIN THE COALITION BOARD!
About half the Coalition board is made up for club representatives like myself. The other half is comprised of "at large" members who can be any member of the coalition, including any club member like you. The next term is a special half-year term (July through December) due to aligning fiscal and calendar years, so it's a great opportunity to try it out and see if you're interested in a full year term. Contact Dave Nichols at purplesnoopy92@hotmail.com if you're interested.

To access the Team Store from the club web site, click on Members, then SDBC Clothing, and follow the directions. If this is the first time you have ordered clothing from Pactimo, you will need to create your personal account. |

The regular jersey and all other clothing items are also available and the Pactimo store is open. Click the images for larger views. Orders generally take 4-5 weeks from the close date of the store.
